How we started
Tennessee Auto Legacy was born out of a desire to uplift our Knoxville community. In 2018, a group of passionate volunteers recognized a troubling trend in our neighborhoods—many residents were eligible for life-changing benefits, but few were enrolled. They realized that often, access and information barriers kept people from seeking help. It was during a community meeting in the Old City that the idea struck: what if we could turn donated vehicles into a resource to bridge this gap?
Thus, Tennessee Auto Legacy was established, channeling the power of vehicle donations to fund a dedicated benefits-research service. By ensuring that our neighbors can easily access programs like SNAP and TennCare, we’re not just changing lives; we’re creating a stronger, more resilient Knoxville.
